Universities at Shady Grove Parking Structure #2

Walker provided functional design and structural engineering services for the 700 parking spaces on five (5) levels. The precast, prestressed parking structure was delivered using the design/build process. The façade incorporated architectural stainless steel screening, thin brick, and a large LED screen. Many sustainable elements were incorporated into the garage to pursue a Park Smart Certification. Sustainable Features Include:

• Local and recyclable materials
• Bike parking, bike repair tools, and a tire inflation station
• Electric charging stations
• Photovoltaic panels on the roof
• Efficient lighting and lighting controls
• Sun shading in the stair tower
• Low emitting/fuel-efficient and carpool preferred parking
